Vicki & Brent

I was a bit anxious before this wedding as we had a really bad and cold weather in Canberra during the week.

But on the Saturday, we had a beautiful and almost warm day.

The session started with the boys in Ngunnawal, by the golf course, very relaxed, where the groom gave away an awesome swing on the green.

At the bride’s place, things were more calm and the girls were almost ready when I got there. Just on time for a few candid shots and we headed of the St Joseph’s Catholic Church, in O’ Connor. It’s a really beautiful church and it was the first time I shot a wedding there.

Here are a few images of such a beautiful day and wedding.

Canberra Wedding Fair – Behind the curtains

I love behind the scenes. It’s where everything and anything would happen to make the catwalk looks as glamorous as possible.

I’d say I mainly set up shoots to record BTS video and find that there is more to see behind the curtains than on the catwalk.

At the Canberra Wedding Fair, last Sunday, glamour was all around, in front and also behind the curtains. Even after the parade, we had our bit of fun with all the brides in their designers gowns and all the bling blings to play with. Special mention to Bindi Kelly as I heard that she did the make up for all the models of the day (about 24 ???)

Here are some of the shots composed on the fly.

Yes, there are some real talents in Canberra.

Nomad Models

Winter is settling in in Canberra and the Wedding season is almost over.

I then turned to my second passion for photography: Fashion.

From an event and wedding “profile”, I do prefer shooting outdoor, event for fashion photography and here in Canberra, we do have some amazing locations to shoot.

For these various shoots, I mainly use Profoto lighting gears and alternated Hasselblad H4D40 with Canon gears (5D2, 1D4) and Nikon gears (D3s, D3x).

I also used a couple of C.Buff products including Alien Bees B1600s and Einstein with VBII and Mini Lithium battery packs.

Joanne & Kieran

The weather has been playing up a bit during this week that I was a bit nervous about Joanne & Kieran’s Wedding.

It happened that on Saturday, we had an awesome blue sky (cloudless though…) with a very nice temperature.

All started at Jo’s parents’ house with the girls getting ready. I’d say that I rarely saw such a nice garden. Jimmy & Dianne obviously put a lot of their time and effort to create such an amazing outdoor living space.

In the themed garden, there is a bar and pool area in one corner and in another, there is a wood fire heated room with a big screen TV for the footy πŸ™‚

The Ceremony was at a 150 year old church, St Francis Xavier, in Hal and the reception was at the Golf Club, Gold Creek.

I shot this wedding with … 3 cameras, a Canon 1D Mark IV, a Nikon D3s and the … Hasselblad H4D40.

I think I’ll definitely need an assistant for my next wedding using this (H4D40) camera.

Sharon & Paul.

It was a very beautiful day and it was a really beautiful wedding.

Sharon came to the Chapel, in Gold Creek, in an awesome lifted Jeep for the Ceremony where they exchanged their vows before families and friends, who came from around Australia.

We spent the morning around the Gold Creek village for some photos before heading to Functions @ Federations.

There was joy and emotion at the reception and as the icing on the cake, a live band played for their bridal waltz.

Italian Wedding

Just a quick teaser about an awesome Β recent italian wedding of Melissa & Nicholas.

The bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome, the Ceremony was grandiose at the Saint Christopher’s Cathedral, in Manuka, and the car is sooooo sweet πŸ™‚

We also had a few custom Harley’s from Melissa’s uncle. The reception took place at the Helenic Clucb and the party went through the night.

I really love my job πŸ™‚
