China & YouTube

Once in a while, I take some quality time for myself and do something not (always) related to photography and I came across this video on Youtube.

It is just awesome what one could do with a little bit of faith and a big bit of training.

The spectacle is just spectacular. I thought I should share it here.

Fusion Wedding: Winnie & Salman’s Wedding

Emotional speech of the brother of the bride during the reception.
Simon’s speech at the Hyatt at the reception of Winnie & Salman’s wedding in Canberra.
I was really honoured that Winnie & Salman chose me to capture their precious moments and wanted to add some fusion into their wedding photography.
This short footage was shot in HD using a Canon 5D Mark II with a 70-200 F/2.8 L IS USM lens.
The sound was captured by the built in microphone.

Aurelie’s TTD “lite”

Two days after the wedding in Nomea, the couple and I went “out for lunch” at the groom’s resort, about 1 and a half hour drive from Noumea.

The set was an awesome resort with bungalows in the middle of the jungle, overlooking to the mountains and there is even a river running near by.

What happened after the lunch was abit expected: we went for a TTD session. It was a pity that the river was almost dry though. I couldn’t push my vision to the limit of a TTD …

Bridal Magazine Shoot

Last year I did the photo shoot for the Your Local Wedding Guide Magazine Canberra.

The editors of the magazine were so happy with the shoot that they asked me to do it again this year.

It was a really fun day shooting at the Hotel Realm, in Barton.

The mock up has now been finalized and the cover is up for poll on the website.

I’d say that I am also very happy of the result as this shot was planned to be a studio set up and I asked to use the location with so many nice backdrops for the shoot.

I’m glad they listened.

I used two “tiny” Canon flashes for these images and without additional battery packs. The flash guns were on light stands with umbrellas.

Here are the covers to choose from.

Vote for your favorite cover here: http://www.weddingguide.com.au/competitions/canberracovervote.aspx

Thank you again Michael & Lyn from Your Local Wedding Guide to come down to Canberra for the shoot.

Also big hugs for the models: Emma and Jordan who did a fantastic job during the shoot.

The Good Time in Noumea.

It’s only when you leave a place that you really realize how awesome it was.
I used to live here and still have the chance to go back as I’m not that far, from Australia.
When I don’t regret being here with my family, I still enjoy coming back where I spent the most part of my life.

Lunch with my sister, niece and brother in law above the water at noon, (watching) kite surf championship in the afternoon, bbq with friends in the evening.
How would one not like this life style 🙂
