Elizabeth Payne & Sam Rooney Part II

I finally found sometime in today’s heavy time table to seat down and play around with some images from the shoot yesterday with Sam and Elizabeth.

Even the lighting was set up with care, I found that I still need sometime behind the computer to add my personal touch for each individual images, also I wanted to create some new effects.

Shooting in ruins can be interesting but the post process can be really time consuming as the idea is to keep all the details of the background, including crap and dust 🙂

Here are a few more.

Enjoy.

Elizabeth Payne & Sam Rooney. Impossible Triangle

I know Elizabeth for a while in the virtual world and finally IRL (In Real Life) for a shoot together.

Elizabeth is one of the girls that know what they want and know what to do to achieve it.

It was really easy to shoot with her as she has a lot of experience and very easy to direct. I just needed to give her an idea of a story and she would know how to make it work. That’s really awesome and we had lots of fun.

Liz came along with the athletic Sam Rooney who is starting out an inspiring modeling career. Being with a model (Elizabeth) and willing to get out there, Sam put a lot of effort into the shoot and the photos came out very nice.

We also had Katrina Lewis who stopped by for a few shots with us.

Katrina Lewis. A multi talent model

I met Katrina during one of the FTV Diamond  Model Awards nights a few weeks ago and took a few photo of her.

Straight away, I saw in Katrina the potentials of a model. The way she talks, the way she poses and the way she acts like a model, naturally.

It is then no surprise that we plan a shoot together and I can confirm that more than being a model very fun and easy to work with, she has other talents. Katrina is an athlete swimmer (Katrina won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing), ballroom dancer, make up artist, lecturer and is a very fun model. Yeah, I already said that but it’s worth to mention again 🙂

Canon 7D and Nikon D700 Confrontation

Updated the confrontation between the Canon 7D and the Nikon D700.

The test is mainly focused on the AF system of these two cameras in Ai Servo, for Canon, and Continuous AF for Nikon.

Video of the scene in HD:

A quick test of the new Canon AF system on the 7D in Ai Servo mode at 8 fps.

Cameras used: Canon 7D and Nikon D700

Lenses used: Canon 70-200 f2,8 IS L USM and Nikon 70-200 f2,8 AF-S VR G

Cameras settings:

Tv/T: 1/8000 sec

Av/A: f:2.8

ISO: 800

Ai Servo @ 8fps for the Canon 7D

Continuous AF @ 5fps for the Nikon D700

Center AF point used.

Both cameras have been placed on a tripod with their IS and VR turned OFF.

The speed of the subject is towards the camera at a stabilized speed of 60 km/h

The Canon 7D is set of AF priority and we only have 67 frames out of the theoretical 80 frames for the 10 seconds squeeze of the trigger.

The Nikon D700 gave a consistent 42 frames for 8.3 seconds squeeze of the trigger.
