TAG – Cont.

Following the first post for TAG, here comes the BTS (Behind the scene) video before the shoot.

I used a Nikon D3s, with continuous timing capture of 1fps. The lens is the Nikon 14-24 AFS – G. The camera was set on medium JPEG with an ISO of 3200. Images have been cropped in the video. I use iMovie to make this basic video.

Thanks again to all the models, the two make up artists Claire Warmenhoven and Elicia Ringuet  and the hair stylist Bianca Pezzella (www.biancanerohairboutique.com)

Special thanks to Lyndell Roberts for assisting me for this shoot.

Check out the HD mode in full screen below.

TAG

The last project for my 2010 Season before heading off for some holidays with my Family.

For this project, I wanted something a bit different and with new faces, people that I didn’t have an opportunity to work with …. well most of them as for this shoot I called back Sam (from my M for Mola shoot) and Katie whom I shot for a bridal magazine back to the end of November.

So what is TAG about ?

TAG stands for …

T for Ted’s Canberra. Special thanks to Greg, store manager Canberra, for lending me a Nikon D3x for this shoot, as I wanted to compare the pixels to my Canon 5D Mark II.

A for Alliance Francaise. Special thanks to Philippe, director of the Alliance Francaise in Canberra (www.afcanberra.com.au), for letting my use the premises for this shoot.

G for …. Guess where I got my inspiration looking at their behind the scene shoot for their 2010 campaigns. Of course we don’t have the same budget with the same team but I think we managed to pull out something decend.

On the side, I am also a huge fan of TAG (Heuer) watches as I have a few of them myself, so this project is a little bit more personal than my previous ones.

While we are in the confidence, I approached GUESS in the Civic and asked for some outfit for this shoot…

The brand being global and their commercial shoots are planned way a head and it is not to be shot in Canberra … (not yet) so we ended up using some of the models gears.

Mega thanks to all the talents involved:

Models: Carlie Potter, Natalie Edwards, Chloe Henderson, Nina, Samantha Lawson Fletcher, Katie van den Bos and Michale Kucharski (Canberra’s Bachelor of The Year 2010 finalist)

MUA: Claire Warmenhoven & Elicia Ringuet

Hair: Bianca Pezzella (www.biancaerohairboutique.com)

Assistant: Lyndell Roberts

Camera gears: Canon 5D Mark II & 7D – Nikon D3s & D3x

Lighting gears: Profoto Acute2 2400, acute2 heads with Giant Reflector & Mola beauty dish (Setti silver).

Video behind the scene and more coming soon.

Nikki & Leigh Part II

It’s been a few crazy weeks with the peak season in weddings and fashion shots. I start accumulating edits for my weddings.

My Brides are coming back from their honey moon and want to revive a bit of the magic of their special Day.

So I decided to sit back on my edit table and get a second round of edit for Nikki & Leigh’s Wedding photos.

Hope you enjoyed your honey moon, guys. More surprises for you from Nomad Photography.

PS: I will get back to my other brides as well. Please just give me some times 🙂

Enjoy.

From the catwalk to the Aisle

Olga is one of the well known models in Canberra and she regularly performs on the catwalks for major events.

I only had the opportunity to work with her for one shoot and it was Add Colour, posted a few days ago on this blog.

When I heard that she was about to walk down the Aisle, I knew I had to shoot her wedding. We had very little time to run through all the details (and boring admin stuffs) and yesterday was the big Day.

Out of my weddings (the ones that I captured of course) this one was one of the most glamorous one. Could it be otherwise? When fashion says “Yes, I Do!” it can only be glamorous and a little bit Edgy.

The Wedding took place at Kiama, a little but very attractive town about 2.5 hours drives from Canberra, the population is reported to be a bit more than 12000 people and the town is about 10m above sea level.

The bride  had her own gears to do her own make up (when I said that Olga is a catwalk permanent resident, I wasn’t making stories) at a very nice beach house overlooking the bay.

The boys weren’t not to bad accommodated as they spent some times on another beach house with direct access to the beach…

What I can say by now is Neil is a luck guy and Olga has found her soul mate. All the best guys and remember to book Nomad for your family portraits 🙂

Enough chat, place for some images. More to come, naturally.

Bridal Magazine Shoot – BTS

Last Tuesday, I did the photo shoot for the bridal magazine Your Local Wedding Guide – Canberra Edition and it was a really fun day.

There were 18 wedding gowns from local and interstate designers, to shoot with different backgrounds, at the Hyatt in Canberra. We went from the hall way to the Presidential Suites, passing by the reception area to the Centenary Ballroom…

I would have loved to have an assistant for this shoot. It’s not that it was heavy lighting gears but I was using a massive beauty dish (Mola Setti, polished silver interior), on a boom with a dumb bell sand bag and the strobe was on a power pack: it started being a bit heavy running around on different shooting locations and I think we used all the levels and possible shooting locations.

As usual, we had two lovely models from Canberra: Katie and Nicole. I already did some shoots with Nicole but it was the first time that I shot Katie. She is so gorgeous that I already have plans to shoot her again in a near future.

We also had Zoe Barton to do the make up (www.zbmakeup.com.au) and the gorgeous Bree and Kayla from Pink Diamond Hair (www.pinkdiamondhair.com.au/) to do the …. hair.

I’ve already done some shoots with Zoe and Bree and I would definitely recommend them if you need a make up artist or hair stylist. both have participate in my Project M3 back a couple months ago.

I used a couple of Canon bodies and the Eye-Fi cards that allowed me to wirelessly tranfer images, on the fly, from the camera to the iPad. It is quickly becoming a permanent tool on my shooting sets.

As the photos will be on the next magazine, I can only post a few images from the BTS (behind the scene) of the shoot.

Thanks again to Prestige Publications, publisher of Your Local Wedding Guide, for having chosen NOMAD PHOTOGRAPHY to do their fashion shoot, it’s the third year in a row and it’s getting better and better

Just a teaser to keep you wait till the magazine will be released next year. Enjoy
